Assistant Athletic Director of Equipment Services

 

Quinnipiac University's Department of Athletics & Recreation is accepting applications for the full-time position of Assistant Athletic Director for Equipment Services to manage the equipment operations of the department. 

 

The University is a member of the Eastern College Athletic Conference Hockey League (ECAC), the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), the Big East Conference and is an NCAA Division I member sponsoring 21 varsity sports.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to the highest standards of academic integrity and work in compliance with all University, NCAA, MAAC Conference, ECAC Conference and Big East Conference rules and regulations
  • Manage and supervise the equipment room staff and operations, implementing procedures and controls over athletic equipment purchases and contracts
  • Serve as the main point of contact for the university Adidas contract
  • Coordinate with department administrators, coaches and staff to assess equipment budget needs, providing guidance through the budgeting process and aiding them in offering equipment budget recommendations
  • Consult with coaches and staff to develop systems for monitoring equipment budgets and actual performance to ensure adherence to budgetary parameters
  • Develop a uniform purchasing cycle and institute cost-saving measures for each team
  • Administer university branding effort within the athletic department
 

Qualifications & Special Instructions to Applicants

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in business or relevant field preferred
  • A minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in equipment operations or a related field, preferably at a NCAA Division I institution or professional sports organization
  • Significant skill in the use of Microsoft Excel and other computer software
  • Possession of Athletic Equipment Managers Association (A.E.M.A) certification or a willingness to obtain certification within two years of appointment
  • Strong organizational skills 
  • Duty to interact professionally within the department, the campus and the national community
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds
  • Other duties as assigned

Ability to work nights and weekends as required.

 

Ability to travel with athletic teams as needed.
